Republican Assembly Historical Summary
The AKRA is a member of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA).
The first Republican Assembly began in the 1930s in California by a group of young Republicans that felt that their party leadership were more concerned about the continuity of political power over the freedom principles embodied in the Republican Party Platform.
Our freedom principles are our power! In the past, Republican Assemblies were instrumental in the election of leaders such as President Ronald Reagan. Today, there are more than 40 state RA organizations across country embodying the soul of the Republican Party. Although by design RAs do not have formal leadership ties to the state or national GOP organization, we are a strong voice in electing the best candidates that are loyal to the party platform. In short, we are loyal to principles over personalities, integrity over pragmatism, and individual liberty over central planners.
Our mission is to pass the torch of liberty down to the next generation burning as brightly has having received it.
